Recap of Recent US Industry Events

In September Xorcom participated in two industry events: the IT Expo, held in Los Angeles, California, and AstriCon, held in Glendale, Arizona. Both events provided opportunities to learn about current trends in the business telephony market and to meet with partners and prospective partners in our channel.
By far the most interesting announcement came at AstriCon, when Stefan Öberg of Skype announced the new project “Skype for Asterisk”, which will connect Asterisk with more than 338 million Skype users around the globe. For those of you who want to share the excitement of the announcement, you can view various videos we filmed at the event and published on YouTube:

Congratulations to Winner of Pleo Raffle

At both of the events described above, we encouraged visitors to our booth to register to win Pleo in a drawing. Pleo, a robotic dinosaur designed to emulate the appearance and behavior of a week-old baby Camarasaurus, uses artificial intelligence to develop an individual personality.

 
We held the actual drawing during the closing hour of the AstriCon event in Glendale, Arizona. The proud new parent of Pleo is:
