Opening Statement from Israel Ronn, General Manager of Cellocator Products Division, Pointer Telocation Dear Friends, Welcome to the Pointer Telocation newsletter for the 1st Quarter of 2009. As the world’s news headlines continue to be dominated by sour financial news, companies more than ever are looking for numerous ways to reduce costs. This presents a unique opportunity for providers of telematics products and services, to reach out to struggling companies, wherever they may be located, with a clear message – that tracking technology can save money while at the same time maximizing operational efficiency. That the money that companies can invest should be delegated for securing top value, which our industry can surely provide. We have seen a similar mindset among our partners, and Cellocator will give full application support to such acts taken to reach out to companies looking to reduce costs through tracking technology. Pointer’s Cellocator division continues to work closely with our partners around the world to supply the latest technology and address customer need. Looking back on the final quarter of 2008, Pointer Telocation continued to grow, penetrating new markets. The Cellocator division also announced the launch of a series of new products for the fleet management and asset tracking industries. With Cellocator now active in Eastern Europe, Russia, and Latin America, our global reach has been extended, with over 500,000 units being installed worldwide. New product announcements included an integration with Garmin GPS navigation systems which provides enhanced two-way communication and increased navigation capabilities, a temperature sensor to address the needs of the multi-billion dollar refrigerated items industry, the Cellocator Handsfree which provides drivers a voice in times of distress, and the launch of the Cellocator Cellotrack, a state-of-the-art asset tracking device to monitor cargo in transport in order to prevent theft and ease logistical management. The Cellotrack is one of central products in Pointer entering new markets in the past several months. Along with other Cellocator products, the Cellotrack received great attention at the recent CeBIT 2009 conference in Germany, a highlight of the year for Pointer and an opportunity to meet with our partners and industry analysts and journalists. We are looking forward to continue operating closely with our partners, for whom we express great appreciation for their endless creativity and innovation, especially in these difficult economic times. We are sure that close cooperation will lead us to only further and greater achievements. Sincerely, Israel Ronn |
